Features
Reactive power control relays are designed to reduce reactive (inductive and capacitive) power that is not used by the loads but is drawn from the grid. If inductive reactive power is drawn from the grid, it intervenes by drawing a capacitor of appropriate value. If capacitive reactive power is drawn from the grid, it intervenes by drawing a shunt reactor of appropriate value. In this way, it tries to reduce the inductive/active and capacitive/active ratios of the system.
The RGT-12E SVC TCR (SVC) stage is designed to provide more precise compensation in unbalanced inductive and capacitive systems.
