TOROIDAL CURRENT TRANSFORMERS

Toroidal current transformers are high-precision devices used to ensure safety and perform current measurement in electrical systems. These transformers sense the phase and neutral currents passing through them to create a magnetic field and induce voltage in the secondary winding. If a difference occurs between the phase and neutral currents, it indicates the presence of a leakage current. The residual current transformer detects this difference, activates the protection mechanism, and ensures precautions are taken against electrical leakage.

Thanks to the toroidal design, they exhibit high resistance to external factors, minimize electromagnetic interference, and maximize measurement accuracy. After passing the phase and neutral lines through the transformer, the output terminals must be connected to KAR01 and KAR11, or S1 and S2 terminals. Although the connection direction does not matter, a correct connection ensures the safe and efficient operation of the system.

Residual current transformers are produced in 8 different models to meet various needs. Based on the internal diameter, they offer usage in circular types (40 mm, 80 mm, 110 mm, 160 mm, 210 mm, and 300 mm) and in rectangular types (280 x 115 mm and 470 x 160 mm).

NOTE: Toroidal current transformers must be used together with a toroidal residual current relay as they operate compatibly.
